Identification note: No denomination or country name indicates a medal, not a coin. Many Jubilee 2000 medals were issued in different sizes and metals by different makers; without diameter/weight or packaging the exact variety and mint cannot be determined. | Design and legends (IOANNES PAVLVS II PONTIFEX MAXIMVS; APERTURA DELLA PORTA SANTA; ANNO SANTO ROMA 2000) and the A. CONSOLINI signature identify a Jubilee 2000 Holy Door-opening medal for John Paul II. However, numerous private and official Vatican medals with this theme were produced in 2000, often in several diameters, metals, and edge formats. Without diameter/weight, edge inscriptions or hallmarks (e.g., IPZS, fineness marks), maker’s mark, or original packaging/COA, no specific specialist catalog listing can be assigned responsibly.
