The Bank of Israel issued Israeli Old Shekel banknotes in 9 different denominations, including this 100 Israeli Old Shekel banknote (1978 to 1984 issue). They are part of the obsolete Israeli Old Shekel banknotes series. The Bank of Israel started issuing these 100 Israeli Old Shekel banknotes in 1979. They were withdrawn from circulation in 1985.
The red-brown coloured banknote of 100 Old Israeli Sheqalim has a portrait of Jewish poet Ze’ev Jabotinsky on the obverse side. The reverse side of the Bank of Israel’s 100 ILR banknote from 1979 shows Herod’s gate in Jerusalem’s Old City.
